Christy's reasoning for being overprotective of her teen is because she suffers from Hashimoto's disease which Terra tried to minimize. The disagreement stemmed from the executive producer insinuating that the reality star treats her daughter like a baby. Terra even ended up throwing Christy's past as an alcoholic in her face.
